Hi There

Can anyone advise me how to go about getting unlimited megabytes for watching content on my Amazon Firestick?  Under my current plan I always run out before my monthly allowance tops up.  I'm thinking of upgrading my ipad with a Sim Slot.   Could I get a Sim from Vivacom to watch my TV via the sim?  I'm totally out of my depth when it comes to technology.

Thanks if you can help.

Hi,

I am using a sim card (on my smartphone), and I have unlimited data from A1. I work on my laptop  (need the internet non-stop) and can watch and listen to anything I want from anywhere (hotspot). I am pleased with the speed, had no issues in 2 months. Now it's 5G, hopefully, 4G works the same.

But it's a 2-year contract, from which I could get out anytime losing a small sum of money.

When I had this deal they offered a small device to plug anywhere and have even faster speed and connection. 10 leva a month would have been on top of the 17 leva I pay on my sim (Bulgarian number, unlimited minutes and date).

But I wanted to try the hotspot on my phone first.

I think it's a great deal. I can't work without a good connection at all times.

I hope this helps. But I am sure that other people have even better ideas and deals.

Cheers,

gwynj

If your current plan isn't enough, you can usually upgrade very easily to a plan with more (or unlimited).

As @cristinabulgaria says, you can use your regular SIM in your mobile phone, and use your phone as a "hotspot" when needed.

The cheapest is usually home internet, and most of these options have unlimited/non-metered data. I usually have one of these, and my TV connects to this.

You can also get data-only SIMs to put in your iPad/tablet so you can watch on this. But you need a SIM slot for it.

Without upgrading your iPad/tablet (if it's only wireless connection, no SIM) the best option is a "mifi" or mobile hotspot/router. This is a small box (cigarette pack, say) with a SIM slot for your data-only SIM card. Most of the main guys can sell (or rent) you a mobile router. I bought mine on emag separately. As I have home internet, mine's just an emergency back-up with non-contract SIMs. These have a rechargeable battery, so you can use it in your car, in a cafe, or lounging on the beach.

Here's the current Vivacom offer, you can see the price for the device, and for the unlimited data SIM

The SIM option works pretty well in most villages. And it's not that expensive at 30 leva/month. I have fibre internet in my village from a local provider and it's 20 leva per month (but I don't pay when I'm not there, which is better than a contract with the big guys). However, Vivacom (and others) have good offers now for home fibre (but depends where you are) that is cheaper than a mobile option.

@cristinabulgaria Hi Christina, would you know the cost of breaking the contract earlier than 2 years?
