Building Permit

Lolo190563

Hi,

Does anyone have any good contacts for Lawyers or Solicitors that specialise in Land and Property matters from personal experience to recommend.

I need some advice regarding an issue I have with the municipality in obtaining a BLP1.

Any good advice would greatly be appreciated.

Regards,

Lolo

Hi, I'm not sure why you need a lawyer to get a building permit. I got mine through an engineer who works for 2futures. It took approx. a month to get it.

However, I've got ripped off twice and my house is still building/fixing. Fortunately the 3rd building contractor is a genuinely good builder. They also introduce a good lawyer to me to fight with the 2nd axxhole. PM me if you would like to have all 3 contacts (engineer, building contractor, lawyer).

Cheers,

Pandora

Sorry that this is not an answer, just a further question - does anyone know of a reasonably priced solicitor/lawyer/notary who can notarise and apostille some documents?

Hi,

can you be more specific on what type of issue you have with the building permit ?

Cheers,

David

@Davidray10 The issue is that the land has been subdivided legally, so the plot I want to build on is for 2 brothers (my father, my uncle) both sadly passed away now.

The council is asking for my uncle family consent and his affidavit which is proving to be impossible due to lack of contact for many years, on my father side not a problem I can get all that.

I will respect and follow all regulations in terms of construction of the house itself, just wondering is there anyway I can get round this and has anyone had similar experiences.

Thank you.

Lolo

@andrew9799 Hi, I would suggest you to google "lawyers in Mauritius" then call them and ask for their rate. But if you prefer referral, PM me and I will give you, his contact details. Also, will tell you which notary you should never contact.
