Your spouse is your dependent. She does not compete an application. Only you do. She does not require a police clearance certificate. Her application is completed on the day you visit the EDB in person.

I have just had a look at the notes again for dependant on Retirement Visa, and I cannot see any mention of a PCC for dependant  I am not sure how I thought that she did!  Very grateful to you for pointing that out.  So it would only be the Main applicant for the Retirement permit that would need to get a PCC, correct?

We applied independently for our retirement visas. My argument is that if she is dependent on yours, and you then die she would lose her dependent visa.

@nicholasmound Yes, only the main applicant needs a police clearance. And only you apply. You will feel stressed thinking that your spouse isn't mentioned anywhere. Rest assured, her application is processed on the day you present yourself at the EDB in Mauritius. Her fee will be processed at the EDB once your application is approved. So don't worry that you're only paying for your application at first.
