Hello everyone,

Every year, our lives are punctuated by events, twists and turns and all sorts of unexpected things. Local and international news has inevitably had an impact on your life and your projects in Vietnam in one way or another.

As the year draws to a close, let's share the highlights of 2022.

Tell us, what do you remember about your year?
What was the highlight of your life in Vietnam?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your year?

Thank you for your future contribution!

Finally able to return to our beloved Vietnam after two and a half years of the Covid fiasco. It’s just like putting on a comfy pair of shoes and taking in all the sights and sounds we love. However, now it’s extra memorable having to leave the country every thirty days until the visa department makes further adjustments.

Like Vungtaugirl great to be back after a 2 1/2 year forced absence. Because Of this, not much I want to remember about 2022. 2021 & 2022 are blanks in my life. Now trying to make up for lost time in 2023. Getting back to travelling, renewing aquaintances. Although many are moving to Cambodia and notice Vung Tau a lot quiter on the western scene but still great to be back.

If you are returning to Saigon, you will find it is overrun by Russians and Europeans looking for ESL work, and many HR people are non-native English speakers.

Also, the ESL HR and recruiting seems to be filled with children, or maybe self-centered unprofessionals as compared to years ago. Please don't tell me 'not so". I have been teaching here 19 years and it has changed drastically and not for the better. Nothing against the Russians or Europeans though-its just that they are here.
