Bonjour! My name is Kirsten and my husband and I are looking to retire in Toulon in about 5 years. We're fact finding right now and hope to visit Toulon in September 2024.

We're interested in the cost of living in Toulon and dealing with the paperwork of moving. I will be reading the forum for other people's experiences.

Hello and welcome on board Kirsten,

Feel free to read the Living in France guide for expats to gather as much information as possible. I would also suggest that you open a new thread on the Toulon forumto seek advice from members.

All the best

Hello everyone,

We are looking to move to France in around 3 years when our son finishes secondary school.

I have loved everything French for most of my life and it is the dream to live there.

We're not sure where yet, but there is a lot of research to do about many aspects of moving and that is why I went looking for somewhere like this forum.

Very excited to get to know more.

Thank you

Tracy

Hi Tracy

I guess it all comes down to :being able to work, desired way of living and means ...

France is an amazing country with great "different" possibilities.

Good morning

So i am a 21y man without any degrees but studying to become a technician in (music/photography/satellite) instruments .

I love experiences and meeting new people

And to be honest it's nearly impossible to travel to any country when you don't have any money or degree, i currently live in Tunisia which is one of the hardest country to start a business due to lack of support, poor infrastructure, lack of online payment in a different currency, it is basically impossible to import anything, i had a lot of online business experiences to be honest I am not a marketer,a developer, neither an accountant but i have a personality that wanna try new things i tried starting a movies streaming platform which have it's own exclusive content and i tried a lot of things related to transforming raw materials along with other business experiences , you may say you still young how did you try all of that (i have a lot of energy) and life is too short to stuck with one thing.

If i moved to Europe i thing that will be a start of something beautiful it could change my life entirely.

So if anybody knows something about how i could travel to france (my father is there and my mother and siblings are about to join him)

Hhh i am left alone, anyway please let me know

I appreciate you reading this

Thanks in advance.

Peace.

Hello all,

My husband and I would like to move to France as a long term goal, probably about 10 years from now when our second and youngest child finishes school. We would also consider moving as soon as six years, with our youngest enrolled in online high school.

We visited France for our honeymoon 20 years ago, and one time since then. Always inspired by the culture and scenery of this beautiful country. Hope to be able to call it home one day.

I am a pharmacist, but do not expect to be able to practice in France as I do no speak French. I will definitely learn what I can of the language in the next few years. I would be open to other sorts of work as well.

Nice to connect with you all!

@tyates  Why wait until your son finishes school in 3 years?  Come now and put your son in a French school.  He will get a better education and in 3 years time he will be totally bi-lingual!
