@JulienHello, sir, my name is Birane Kane, I am a young Senegalese single without children, holder of a license in accounting finance. I am currently a cashier in a supermarket, I have proven experience in stock management, management of funds, but also a certificate in customer relations management. I have ambitions to travel and work at Cape Verde.
Hi, I am Jan from the Netherlands. Not an expat, just a lazy tourist. I will visit Cape Verde in December. Falo português mas escrevir é difícil.
I mainly come to this forum to find information about visa. As a tourist I can stay 1 month, with extension up to 3 months. With the digital nomad / tourist visa I can stay 6 months, with a possible 6 month extension. Apparantly I can then apply for residency. The 3, 6 or 12+ months is something for the future

Hi Jan,
Do not apply for a digital nomad visa. It's a complete waste of time. The program is completely mismanaged by the government. In addition, you CANNOT apply for residency once the time has expired. You are required to leave Cape Verde after the remote work visa expires.
Instead, after you have arrived as a tourist, you can EITHER apply for a residency visa (2 years renewable for 5 years) OR simply apply for a 6-month temporary visa (and then extend it for another 6-months, or apply for residency visa).
The 6-month visa is easiest to get and requires a lot fewer documents than the residency visa. You can apply for the residency visa at any time. With the 30-day tourist visa, the 6-month visa, the residency visa, or even with no visa, you can do whatever you want in Cape Verde including remote work.
Cape Verde does not have immigration police going from house to house checking for people who have overstayed their visa or who are remote working. The government has zero resources for enforcing anything. It's a very poor country. There's no budget for enforcement. It's our best kept secret.
There are thousands of foreigners who live or work in Cape Verde without any kind of visa. The only time anyone in authority checks to see if you have a valid visa is at the airport when you leave the country. You simply pay a fine if you have overstayed.
Hopefully, they can move this post to the proper thread for remote working visas.
Cheers,
Angelo
