WP REJECTED.

Did they put any rejection reason?

still pending for company to find out .. but i just want verify can i be in singapore during the WP application ?

when my company applying for me  i was actually at singapore for holiday

Being in Singapore on a SVP (tourist visa) has no influence on a work pass application, as long as you don't overstay or commit any other offense.

Note:

Non-Malaysian workers cannot be in Singapore during the Work Permit application. < got it from MOM website . please advise thanks so much

@Rongliang Goh Thanks for the information - this is different for other work passes (EP and S-Pass), which I am familiar with. Sorry for my wrong answer above, but I didn't know and expect this!

I dont know when my company applied WP either 11/1/23 or 16/1/23 but  i checked today (17/1/23) around 2am my application is pending. Before this there was no data so i assume they applied on 16/1 , then when i checked back around 10am , it change to as "invalid" your application has not been approved , please contact your company or agent. Is this mean its rejected  ? or its too early to check if the possibility of submitting the application made on 16/1 (not 1 week yet) and have to wait for the result after 1 week processing time ? Please anyone encounter this issue before to clarify me if it's rejected or not

@phaeasfithree that means your WP is rejected. You may try to ask your company to appeal (might be due to lack of documents/criteria does not met). But most likely company will not try to appeal as they need to pay another SGD35 for application and as nowadays theyre demanding. Its like during covid in 2020, ppl are demanding but today, company is demanding as they have more candidates. But anyway, you may try

@roserosland  My company has reached to me stating that my application being rejected. They will try to appeal once again and have to wait around 14days for MoM to reply back with the verdict

The rejection letter stated the 2nd reason as im not eligible for work pass , please look for other candidates. Do you happen to know why am i not eligible? I got good grades (SPM with 2A and 5credit) , ive been employed as retail assistant (similar skillset to my offered job) and also has a background of good cocurriculum and even has own mini business which also has the same skillset needed for the new jobscope. Or is it because im below 35 and sabahan ? (is the old criteria still useable?)

My other acquaintance's application has been approved while mine is not. So technically, the problem may come from my background. Please pray for me to get approve for the appeal. I need it ☺️

@phaeasfithree Sorry to say that, but "not eligible for work pass , please look for other candidates" is a strong statement that you as a person are not eligible - and an appeal is unlikely to change that. So I suggest you make a Plan B in another country!

@beppi Thanks for the clarification. Im still hoping everything will turn out great . If not, im gonna be depressed for a long time hahah . I think the sentiment about Borneo people will not be employed unless they are 35yo and older still lingered. Just hoping for the best right now.

@phaeasfithree Hi, I am also a Sabahan below 35, it’s okay, just wait for the appeal result. Your company is good enough to appeal for you. I am also applying for WP with SPM. I used to worked in SG since 2013, but in 2023, my WP has been rejected thrice in 3 companies and MOM only stated the reason of rejection is because MOM take each work passes application into own merits and so on so on. But yeah, I am still applying for jobs in Singapore and hopefully find a good company that wants to appeal for me btw, if the company offered you a salary of 2.5k as basic, you may request them to apply for Spass
