Hi guys

So we are a married couple with 2 kids from Europe. My husband is 44 years old and got a disabled pension so a fix income of more than 1500 usd per month. Do you guys think there is any chance he can get a retirement permit even he is not yet 50 years old? We are planing to make mauritius our home so would be annoying to apply every year for the premium visa..any ideas? Thanks everyone

Hello Laura,

Are you sure your husband will receive his pension even if he doesn't live in Switzerland?

I am french, also entitled to a disabled allowance but I am not allowed to leave the country (even on holidays) more than 3 months per year. When I become a resident in a foreign country, I definitely loose the pension.

As to your question regarding the retired permit, from what I have gathered, there is nothing specified about disabled applicants.

All the best to you and your family.

My understanding is retired permit is  aged 50 plus and also you will need substantial medical aid if your husband is on a disability. Your birth country is unlikely to continue disability payments if you migrate. I would investigate  it out thoroughly prior and perhaps stay in your country of birth considering the health difficulties.

@VeeBasin Hello VeeBasin. Yes his pension is not from Switzerland, just i am :) so all fine in that case and even advised from the country the benefit/pension is from :) wow didnt know the french are so strict. Thank you for answering. Guess have to keep searching or apply for premium visa. Have a good night.

@samanthra14 hello samanthra. Well there isnt just disability in form of being handicaped. He needs sun so strongly adviced from the country where we live now. And ofcourse we made sure that its allowed to emigrate and that he can take the money with him :) that was the first step :) but thank you anyhow.

@Laura91 yes premium visa is good because retirement permits us after 50 years age .

You can apply for self employed business in that **** usd for long term visa, if you live in country Mauritius more than 5 years, you can apply for citizenship.

In all conditions tax and money.

If you are beneficial to country then visa is easy otherwise rejected , it's all depends upon case to case .
