Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup!
Excellente journée

Budman1

Well there are a few of us on the site that live in the Can Tho area, but I'm not sure if any can speak/read French. Maybe try posting again in English. Wild_1, can you handle French??

Hey there. I am living in Sai Gon. But i had visited Can Tho a few times for business trip. So i know some information about Can Tho. Also i can find informations for you. There are many informations written by Vietnamese. I also have some friends there. Anything else you want to know? Please be more specific (ex: food, hotel, ..,) so i can help you easier

Do i like living in Can Tho? Yes, i do. The natural view at there is beautiful. I like to read a book in a coffee shop beside the river. The food is ok with me. I shop at Can Tho market or Coop.mart supermarket.
But i am Vietnamese. So everything is easy to me.
Maybe it will be a bit difficult with you and your family.
But everything will be ok, i hope ;-)

Hello Feline,

The second version of your request is much better than the first.  No, Budman, there wasn't much I could do with that one.

Anyhow, that school--Thai Binh Duong--is the best that Can Tho has to offer.  I don't have kids, so I don't know much.  But, it is where the Can Tho's elites send their children.  They are trying to make it like some of the boarding schools in Great Britain.  I don't know if it is all that, but if I have kids, there is where I would send them.

There is another school, Ngoi Sao.  It is owned and operated by a Vietnamese family.  My cousin sent his daughter there when he was here.  But, his main focus was for her to learn Vietnamese.  I don't know about French, OK.

Before you arrive, please pack enough medications and learn as much as you could about children's health.  The children hospital here leaves a lot to be desired.  Last time I went there with my niece, I went off on quite a few people.  My cousin and I ended up bringing his daughter home and looked up on the internet for her cares...

Other than that, Can Tho is one of the better places to settle down.  It is sub-urban in its settings, nothing like the hustle bustle of Saigon.  You can freely move about the city with your motorbike, or bike even.

I have been here going on 3 years and don't intend to leave anytime soon.  Therefore, if you need more information or any further assistance, please be more specific.  I would be glad to help.  I am no tour guide or used-car salesman, so I don't know where to begin.

Best wishes,
Howie

WideAwake

I interviewed fore a teaching position at Thai Binh Duong/ Pacific College and was very impressed with the management.  It appeared to be ran extremely well, with a clear curriculum and staff that truly cared about the quality of the education the students were recieving.

The manager is French and very dedicated to his job.  Send me a personal message if you want his email address.
