Hi friends! I have a curious question. I always travel with my passport no matter what, but I've wondered if anyone has ever entered a MERCOSUR or associated country (Chile, Peru etc.) by handing the immigration people your CRNM Residente card? The Mercosur agreement lists CRNM cards as "recognized travel documents" Permanent residents in Argentina and Chile are issued identity cards identical to the citizens with the exception that they have "Extranjero" written on them and they are allowed to use those to enter our country here in Brasil. So I wondered if our version of a permanent resident card works in reverse.
