Hi, did you need to attest your degree certificate for approval?  My husband did B.com (honors) in 1998 & has 20+ years of work experience. Can he apply for my residence visa after he gets his IQAMA. Thanks

@Ruchiinbahrain firstly he must be in the good profession. If he is in any finance related profession, then he must register his iqama in SOCPA website and get temporary / associate membership certificate.

Secondly the degree certificate must be attested with Saudi culture and Saudi embassy or apostile. Get this done through any reputed agent.

After the certificate is attested then register his iqama in SOCPA website and get temporary / associate membership certificate. You must need to upload the attested certificate in this website.

Once you done all the above then you can apply residence visa easily.

Thanks for your note. Yes, he will be at the senior finance level. We have already got his B.com degree apostilled. Should we get his CA degree also apostille? There is no more attestation by the Saudi Embassy after Saudi has joined the Hague Convention. It's only to be attested by the university and Saudi Cultural attache. However, agents in India are saying that this step is not needed anymore for getting a work visa stamped.

My question is:-

1) Will my husband get his IQAMA if degrees are only apostilled and not attested by Saudi attache in India? I understand getting a degree attested is a very long process and it can take months, depending on the university's turnaround time

2) After he gets his IQAMA,  can he apply for a resident visa for me? Or he will need to have his degree attested first along with apostille. Am already an expat in another country and once my husband exits from our current country, I will lose the right to live here. Hence, we are trying to figure out how soon I could join him in Saudi and what are my alternate options to join him in Saudi ASAP.

Thanks for further guidance. Have a good day!

@Ruchiinbahrain yes i know that embassy attestation is no more. For this only you need apostille.  If you have culture attestation already then get attest for apostille now and these both is must for resident visa processing.

Yes, iqama it will get issued only when you apply for SOCPA. If you don't apply for SOCPA and after three months the iqama won't get renew.

Yes, the Saudi culture attestation it takes normally 1.5months process. Not too long.

If you need only apostille it take 1 week of time only.

After once he done with all above details then he can apply for resident visa for you. Along with this you must need to translate your marriage and degree certificate. Adding, you both must have your names in both passports.

to settle newly in Saudi Arabia, it will take generally 2month of time.  Meanwhile ask him to apply for visit visa until all these process gets done.

I hope you got the answers for your questions. Thanks!
