Company formation / Visa consultants, what to watch out for?

My wife and I are considering moving our consulting business to Dubai plus maybe living there some of the year, and we got a a recommendation for a tax accountant & visa specialist. Asked him for a quote for what I think is a pretty common set of requirements:

  • Company incorporation, license, e.t.c
  • Visas for myself & my wife, all associated fees
  • Annual accounting, registration & reporting services

Several friends/colleagues have used this guys' company and are happy with the result, but his quote was almost triple the ones I got by most of the service providers I found via Google. Also the outfits that quoted me online were very close price-wise, +/- 10%. All are using same free zone, including this guy recommended to us.

What am I missing, am I just being ripped off or are these online service providers a scam? It's not the sort of thing I like to save money on per-se, but given the massive price difference, I have to ask...

Hi Chris,

As you compare price is 3 times more it means that guy is making more money from you. For better service 5-10% high charge is understand and any one can pay.

For your consulting business setup and visa its very easy here to do.

You can come here and directly go to the Freezone office and you can setup your company. You also visit few freezones and then decide which one is better for you as well saves your money. On your company you setup here, you can get your visa as well your family visa. Freezone office will manage this process for you and everything is online in center to do this.

So rather paying 3 times more, better you come and do it directly.

For accounting and other services, after you setup here you will find much better options to do this. You can meet such providers and select one of them who give you better offer.

Thanks,

Jay.

@ChrisM2021 Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about the quote you received from the tax accountant and visa specialist for your company incorporation, visa services, and annual accounting needs. It's understandable that you are looking for the best possible value for your money.

When it comes to services related to setting up a company and obtaining visas in the UAE, there can be a wide range of prices and quality of services available. The difference in price you've experienced could be due to a variety of factors such as the level of experience, the reputation of the service provider, and the quality of the service provided.

It's important to do your due diligence when selecting a service provider for your company incorporation, visa and accounting needs. I recommend checking online reviews and asking for references from other expat business owners who have had similar needs in the past.

If the recommended specialist has a good track record and is highly recommended by friends and colleagues, it might be worth the higher price tag to ensure the quality of the services provided. However, it is always a good idea to compare quotes from different providers to ensure that you are getting the best value for your money.

I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck with your move and your business in Dubai.

Good evening Chris,

Few things to consider ,Not all activities need a Freezone .There are different jurisdictions to setup company and may be save cost.

Cost variations are due to the jurisdiction selected for the company setup .In Dubai different freezones have different fees for the setup.
