What type of fraud? The Police won't freeze any account, but the bank might.

You did not use a real estate agent or Airbnb? If not, then it wasn't a very smart move. Do you know the name of the person you sent the money to and how did you transfer the money? Was it a bank to bank transfer to a Thai bank account? If you're going to the police they will ask same questions.

This is the story: I booked the place specifically cause is dog friendly. I suppose to check in on 19 March, but the owner told me that he will be not there that day due to his work and delay the check in on 20 March. I disagree as we deal for the 19 and asked for my refund back. He refused as he said I booked already the place for one month.

I know name, surname and bank details.

How it works? It will takes hours, days, weeks or years to get his account frozen and get my refund back?

Thank you

You have to report this at the local police station. The bank won't do anything without a police report, and even with a report it might not work in your favor. ฿3,000 isn't a fortune and just one day delay isn't much to complain about even if it sucks.  Were there any official terms regarding cancelling the booking?

It's true that only a court order has the power to freeze a bank account?

There is nothing about cancellation. Just a receipt stating I sent the 3000 THB and the check in date should be on 19 March.

If I report how long it will take to see some result? Same day, the day after, days, weeks?

Or, as it's not a big sum, it's just a waste of time? Thank you again.

There will be no frozen account, of that I'm quite sure. Everything will be about the terms when you booked the apartment and if cancelling is even possible. Wouldn't it be easier to move in March 20? It's not that hard to find a cheap guesthouse and stay there one night. Where were you supposed to stay anyway?

@Leeds forever! You need a lawyer to submit a motion to a judge to freeze an account.

The police cannot freeze an account without going to a judge first. They also have to make a motion.

No one will freeze an account for an amount of ฿3,000. I doubt you're a lawyer if you don't understand that. And it's not a fraud if a cancellation and a refund isn't accepted. When booking something online you have to check out the terms.

With a glut of rentals there, I would not even book.  I say just chalk it up to experience as it is not big amount.  Enjoy your stay instead of worrying of this.

Was an apartment for one month in Bangkok.

In the invoice I got, there is no mention about cancellation policy or refund. Just that I paid the 3000 THB for keep the property until I get there.

Then accept to move in March 20. It's by far the easiest option. You can find a cheap guesthouse for one night.

The problem is that I cannot find cheap pet-friendly place in BKK. No wanna spend 2000 THB for someone else mistake.

I'm not talking about a ฿2,000 hotel. Have you never been in Bangkok before? There are cheap guesthouses everywhere. I visited agoda's website. I found 171 pet-friendly really cheap hotels and guesthouses. It took me 1 minute. Enter Bangkok, check in/check out date. When the list of accommodations pops up, click on Filter up to the left and check the box Pets allowed. Done.

I need a lawyer to unfreeze my accounts. Can you recommend anyone?
