@stellaokonta when was it registered with ibz ? Am on 17th march atleast they working on african files
@Spencer Gee Gold , I can understand your situation. I am not sure on which basis those applications were treated. I must add one more point here, My wife was in Belgium before for around 3.5 years with me and went to India for the delivery. As she was out of Belgium for more than 6 months I had to apply for Family reunification visa. That may also be the reason, that my file was approved in 3 months period. But all we can do is keep our positive hope and wait for the decision.
Thanks
I have dared to email the info desk 😂
And I am completely hopeless for a reply, but still I emailed them 😂
Let's see if they respond or not
-@hibbasaleem18
They will reply you but blankly, below is what they will send to you…,
Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
You enquire about the status of a visa application.
We have received the visa application and it is currently being treated. The legal timeframe in which a decision must be taken is 6 months counting from the date of introduction of the demand. As soon as a decision is taken it will be communicated by the diplomatic post which will invite the visa applicant and give the decision.
You may follow the status of your application through the website of the Immigration service through “What is happening to my visa application?” which you can access through this link:
https://dofi.ibz.be/sites/dvzoe/NL/Page … vraag.aspx
For this you will need the visa application number and the name of the diplomatic post where the visa application was introduced.
With kind regards,
-@Spencer Gee Gold
Ohhh, don't know if my would really be in treatment or they'd just try to get along an easy way and just say anything so the applicants stay quiet huhh 😢
-@hibbasaleem18
Hasn’t your application been registered on ibz? If it has, I bet that is the response you will get. In fact the reason why you haven’t gotten a response yet was because they probably had closed for the day
-@Spencer Gee Gold
No I can't track anything on ibz still, complete 6 weeks have past, there's no clue not even "in treatment" I just don't get any result when I try to track.
So I hope they give me a right clue where me application is
I have dared to email the info desk 😂

lol 😂 I told you this their pattern of reply yesterday because I’ve come to know them too well enough to know that that is their normal blank response to all applicants. Do not worry about the tracking issue because many a time, the tracking can yield results in 8-10 weeks or at times, they don’t allow it to be tracked but that doesn’t mean that are not working on it, do not be surprised that whenever it’s trackable, you may get visa that same day or next. They do that sometimes

The thing is that it’s not possible for them to close the immigration processing office for the whole summer, some people will still be there working but just not in full capacity, so this will make it slower than usual

Well in the previous reply to the automated email they sent me I again asked kindly tell me how long does this take and when is it trackable on the website
And this is what the reply I got, I think even they don't know anything who are handling the emails, this is the reply
We do not handle the tracking tool. It can take a very long time before you will be able to follow it on the tool.
Bro this doesn't even make sense lol

September??? But why??? Due to holiday? That is extremely ridiculous. What happened to the 6 months time frame for those of us that are married to an EU citizens???

Hey don't worry about that, maybe last year they had more applications than this year, plus people who applied in March got it approved in June (3.5 months) they usually take 3-4 months to approve, or probably a week to refuse.
Don't worry at least we're in the line, it seems this time they are a bit too lazy, they haven't even returned the passports of the approved ones lol
One more thing that I see, might be a good news is in the ibz website it's mentioned that the immigration office will be closed on July 21, 14 and 15 August because these are some days in Belgium
So let's assume they didn't mention the summer holidays here otherwise they could have mentioned them.
So probably this means that except these holidays the immigration office will continue it's work

Hmm I understand, being in the line is frustrating but knowing that the visa is approved and you're still bound here is more frustrating.
There must be an issue at their end that's why it's getting delayed otherwise they usually return the passports within 15 days of the decision.
Prayers for you Bhai, that you get your passport soon and reunite with your family
The immigration office is still opened and working truly, my wife and mother in-law called them this morning and they picked and talked to them, that files are still processing. They said the time frame is 6 months and we have to wait till the results is out.
@Spencer Gee Gold
They are only closed on the official holidays mentioned below. I think that some of the employees would take their holidays but for sure it still operates. Usually, they send the decisions towards the deadline so no panic if you guys dont hear from them. Its hard to wait but lets be patient. We'll all have good results
The Immigration Office will be closed on the following days:
Friday 21 July (National Day)
Monday 14 August (bridge day)
Tuesday 15 August (Assumption)

Yeah that's right, if we don't see our status on the ibz this doesn't mean it's not processing, ofc it is. But yeah, we have to be patient and wait, they might update the status of the late ones like us at once
Hello all. I would like to add few things after reading different posts in this thread. Immigration office of Belgium is federal interior ministry of Belgium. It is the most important ministry in any country in the world. Pls note that governments donot go on long summer holidays or any time in a year, they are always working. Here in the case of Belgium, they may not show up or respond but they are always working. Pls be patient, you will OFFCOURSE get a result of your visa file. Regarding passport collection, its our nice embassy in Islamabad that is sh'tty. Go after them and show them by taking screenshot from ibz website that your visa is approved and ask/ push them to send your passport back. This can work somehow. Recently embassy staff has been some a''holes. They just dont care to send your passport back. So push them hard.

Hey, they take there own time, it's not necessary that every applicant in April gets their approval in June, there are many applicants here who have applied in February and still haven't been registered on the ibz site, but yeah we can hope that they take a time span of 3.5 to max 4 months.
All we can do is be patient and hope for the best,
Maybe yours is taking more time because they required some additional documents??
@hibbasaleem18
Thank you so much for your reply .. Yeah hope for best that everybody got there results soon .
Non till now they don’t ask for any extra documentation.

That's good if they don't ask for any extra document because that makes the process slow.
If you got registered in April, hopefully you'll get a decision in this month.
Good luck!
@dalvirsandy123 hi there glad you shared your experience , i said earlier most people who applied in feb /march 2022 got approval in august september which is 6months , so we going to see, hoping for good news soon
@hibbasaleem18
Thank you sooo much dear … it’s just hope with who we all are connected. I hope good time’s will come soon for all of us .
@Abena ne
Thank you for this info. Surely they will count 6 mnths . Because everytime when i call or send emails to embassy then they said must wait 9 to 15 mthns .
@dalvirsandy123 9 to 15months are for non belgians but if sponsor is belgian is 6months
@Abena ne
That means in my case it will be 9 to 15 months because i am not belgian yet . I can apply for citizenship in the end of this year .
@dalvirsandy123 yes 9 t0 15 months , mine will take 6 months is my husband is a belgian
