Belgian / Dutch people in Algarve region?

Post new topic

bartpeters909

Hi there guys

I'm new to the forum here and would like to know if there's any Belgian or Dutch people on here who live in the Algarve and wouldn't mind telling me a bit more about their experience.

That would be very much appreciated, I'm looking to move there myself in 2024.

I'm a 32 year old male who works remotely as an author and investor.

The more relaxed lifestyle, NHR possibility (no tax for 10y), the Portuguese kitchen and a love for the ocean makes moving for me look very appealing, but I do want to know more about what I'm 'getting into'.

Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Hello Bartpeters909,

Welcome on board !

I hope members will provide you some useful information soon.

Till then, feel free to read the Living in Portugal guide for expats to gather as much information as possible.

Have you already visited or lived in the Algarve region ?

All the best

Hi bartpeters909, Welcome.

I assume you are from Dutch-speaking Flanders, but the French forum also has many Belgians.

I can suggest you these two places:

- a belgian owned hotel

This boutique bed and breakfast near the small mountain town of Sâo Brás de Alportel has been renovated over five years by a Belgian couple

- a Dutch school in the Algarve

Nederlands Onderwijs Algarve Portugal

(...)

You will find Belgian/Dutch people there for sure :)

Best Regards
