Greetings!

I am johnson roy. I am currently working in saudi arabia & in coming august, 2023 my 2 years of agreement is going to expire. My iqamah expires in the month of december 2023.

I do not wish to continue/renew the contract(agreement), I want to go on the final exit in august once my agreement finishes, but I've have a thought that my company will force me to work till my iqamah finishes. I want to know my rights whether I can leave when my agreement finishes on august 2023, or do I need to work till my iqamah finishes..!

What If my 'Employer' doesn't allow me to go on final exit and tells me to work till my Iqamah Expires????

If this happens what steps should I take in order to go n the Final Exit???

Please Advise.....

Thank you.

[at]johnsonroy96 Hi!

Should you wish to not continue your contract with your company, just submit a resignation letter stating your reason "finished contract" and effectivity date "August....". Make sure that your HR accepts and signs your resignation letter then get a copy of it.

If they do not want to accept it, contact your agency in the Philippines and inform them of your situation, they can help you with it.

The best way to do is to discuss this matters to your company in a pleasant way. Tell them what you want that you will not renew your contract and it based on the agreement that you sign. Your company is the only way that can help you. Before going to LABOR, because if you did this you must be financially prepared.

You should submit 3 months notice of non renewal of contract not resignation.

Indicate that as soon as my contract is finished state the date you will stop work.

I gave the Resignation already this month (which is 3 months before).

They (HR) received the resignation but usually they don't give a signed copy.

I've mentioned "I do not wish t to continue, please issue me the final exit visa".

My concern is, what if they told me to work till my iqamah finishes???? and if this happen what should I do??

Article 77: Compensation For Invalid Termination Of Contract

In case the contract doesn't include specific compensation, the party affected by termination shall be entitled to compensation as follows: For indefinite term contracts: an amount equivalent to a fifteen-day wage for each year of the worker's employment.

EDZ1984

[at]johnsonroy96 Review the terms in your contract. If you're not going to renew your contract, at least inform your employer (in writing/email) 60 days  (or as per the term mentioned in your contract) before your contract ends.
