Proof of onward travel

Post new topic

Okay I purchased a round trip ticket from Los Angeles to Cebu, my return flight is 90 days later. I’m flying on EVA AIRLINES. My intent is to go to BI and request extensions to my 30 days upon arrival to insure that I’m legal for the 90 days. My concern is that EVA will deny boarding if I do not have proof of onward travel. Any and all thoughts and/recommendations will be appreciated.

@jcole4455 I bought the same thing. and i bought a onward throwaway ticket to bali after the first 30 days tourist visa. thats 96 bucks extra. Ashame but at least than i am sure i can board. I never did that and was always able to board, but that was before corona and i heard they are now more strict. So better lose some more money as seeing your whole trip going up in smoke.

Go on Cebu Pacific Airlines an look for one way flights to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, that's usually the cheapest flight. It seems that lots of people buy flights to that place but not many people go there.

You said you purchased a round trip ticket, I gather both arrival and departure are with EVA and if so they won't bat an eyelid.

I recently booked a flight to Singapore with one company and a throw away ticket with another company 2 months out and had to get clearance by showing my booking to exit PH, Same airline round trip, never questioned.

Cheers, Steve.

Your return flight is your "onward ticket". The airlines is only doing it because they're on the hook if you don't have a return or onward flight. Since you do, they don't care.

Edit: BTW, that's a nice flight. Same one I took. I hate having to deal with the fiasco that is Manila. And Cebu international airport is cleaner and much easier to get through swiftly.

@jcole4455 good day my understanding is you will need a exit ticket out before you board i suggest obtaining short flight ticket out and use it if you need to.

I always like to arrive and depart from Cebu if possible. The airport is cleaner and easier to navigate and since I have always flown onwards, I like to stay at the Waterfront Airport Hotel which is easily within walking distance of the hotel and is very comfortable.
