@Julien HI, I am Dr. K. K. Lal from Jamshedpur, India. Did my MBBS in 1987 from Ranchi University. Worked in Corporate Hospitals, Govt. Institutions and more than 10 years in a WHO project in India on vaccine-preventable diseases.

I visited Bhutan way back in 1982 for 15 days. This is my most fascinating trip to this adorable land. I retired last year and doing private practice as a diabetes specialist in my home town.

My wife is a staff nurse and she is retiring after one year.

I am looking forward to settling down in Bhutan if at all it is possible.

My greetings to all the members of this forum.

Hello Bhavna,

I just wanted to know from my fellow members, if they could tell me how to settle in Bhutan after retirement. Is there any program run by the government?

Hoping to hear soon from you

Thanks

Dr. K. K. Lal.

You can only live permanently in Bhutan if you've been living there for 15 years, working on a government project, or if you are married to a Bhutanese.

If you want to continue working as a doctor, you may get a 12 month visa which may or may not be extended annually.

Try contacting the country's major hospital, https://www.jdwnrh.gov.bt
