Waiting on renewal of residence permit for over 8 months

Hello! I have submitted documents for renewal of residence permit during October 2022. So far, I did not receive any information about the progress of renewal except that Immigration Office has been working on it. Of note, I was for 2 years a student, then worked for a year, and then again switched to being a PhD student.

Is there anything I can do or someone to ask what is going on? I would like to travel outside of EU (to Peru to visit family), however this is not possible for this whole period of time.
