A card = Useless

Post new topic

umairsaeed01

So I have come up to a conclusion that the Temporary A card is the most useless one in Belgium

1) Cant apply for car loan

2) Cant apply for cash loan

3) Cant apply for Housing loan

4) Cant apply for credit card (I got rejected twice from ING even though my job contract is unlimited and salary is well above the average monthly wage in Brussels)

5) Cant apply for a lease (automotive)

So if your employer is not offering you a car or credit card then you are stuck in Belgium (I got lucky in this case). Its like you are bounded for 3 years with a certain employer and basically cant do anything. I have lived in the middle east and it was never that difficult atleast in case of credit cards or car loans.

Did anyone else face the same issues?

Means of A card teoraticallly and in practice : working and residence permission.

This makes the A card suitable for its purpose.

Of course bescause it is not suitable for the purposes you mentioned this doesn't mean A card is useless.

When people are coming to work in Belgium they most probably aware of purpose of the card and usage range.

It might not have anything to do with the card, but that you need to have a good credit score, meaning that you will have to be in the country working for a number of years before you can get a loan.

Did you ask for the reason at the bank why you were declined?

harshtayal13

This is incorrect.

I had an A card for the past 5 years and was able to get a house loan and offered a personal loan from BNP in my first year. Had a credit card from BNP and had a car lease from the company under my name.

A friend of mine also took house loan on A card. You need to check with different banks. They may also consider your earnings in contrast with the loan you are asking.

You can check with kbc bank.

you can get car loan, home loan easily on A card.

@umairsaeed01

I do not know about the rest but for the credit card check multiple banks, I would suggest check even every bank you can find because there are definitely some institutions that offer one to people with A card. Brussels airlines Amex was one of them in the past although it is expensive. ING is definitely not the most friendly

@ievgenfeldmann

One of my friend got 30k personal loan from ing bank.

As you can see circumstances could change.

So please do not spread non precise information here
