Is youth baseball common in Bangkok?

Post new topic

My son is nearly 8 and while he hasn't played organized baseball in the states, he's always been interested in trying it out. He has played organized soccer and basketball. I would love for him to be exposed to all kinds of sports. In terms of optimist leagues and recreational leagues (like the YMCA here in the states), is there an equivalent type of system where kids can sign up to play these sports (from age 5-14)?

Baseball is not very common among kids in Thailand even if there's a national team. It's the same with Basketball. When it comes to sports for kids almost everything happens in school. Soccer is the most popular team sport involving a ball. Volleyball is also popular, especially women's volleyball. The national team is on tv all the time. You can always google for example 'Baseball in Bangkok'. There will be several hits. Here's a link to YMCA in Thailand:
