MISSING - in Bangkok young british woman

Post new topic

TMD1973

My daughter is missing in Bangkok. We were contacted by someone who found her in the street clearly psychotic from drugs. She was last seen at The Mall Bang Kapi and said she was staying at the Sawasdee House Guest House but they say they have not heard of her. Please contact us if you see or hear of her. She is likely to be very unwell and is a danger to herself when ill.

Her name is Hannah Davies. She has long brown dreadlocks, is caucasian, about 5 ft 6 inches and does not usually wear make up. She is 21 years old.  She was reportedly very dirty and covered in mosquito bites when last seen.

Thank you for your help.

I suggest you contact your home secretary office in UK

They will get in touch with the UK embassy here which in turn contact the local police.

Doing this way is better and safer as your embassy is able to render aid to your daughter too.

Besides they can update you of any news regarding your daughter.

GOD Bless

Every parents worst nightmare. How very, very worrying this must be for you. I totally agree with the last comment regarding contacting the UK. Home Secretary to liaise with the British Embassy here in Bankok. They in turn can petition the local Police to assist. However, you can also contact the British Ambassador here Mark Kent, directly through his twitter account. I have added a link here from Richard Barrows website that tells you how to do this.

Richard himself could prove a wothwhile contact. He has a large media following and I know that he has helped many people with similar, serious comcerns.

Another possible idea is your local media in UK. Thus targeting returning holidaymakers and those about to travel. Also a post on Facebook with a picture? There are many expats here in Thailand and many use FB or other social media sites.

I do understand there will be concerns regarding the posting of a picture and usually I would agree. However, I  do believe that the most important issue here is the location of and the ensuring of Hannahs safety. Any other possible issues that may exist can be addressed at a later date.

Good luck and God bless that Hannah is located soon.

Welcome to Expat.com :)

I am really sorry for your daughter. I hope that you get news of her very soon and that she is fine.

Unfortunately, here on Expat.com, we won't be able to provide you with much help regarding this but you can post an ad in the Missing people in Bangkok to spread the word better.

I advise you to contact the UK Embassy in Bangkok as well as they are the proper authorities to help you out here.

It does not sound good at all besides following the advice from the other posters I would take the next flight to Bangkok if it's my daughter.

Bangkok is a massive city, but I'd probably do that as well.
I'm pretty sure you'd find out the best places to hunt for someone in her situation, but take a bunch of large men with you.
I haven't spent much time in that city, but I noticed a few places you really wouldn't want to be alone.

Dear Madame,

Sorry for you and your daughter. Even if your daughter is 21 years old, you must contact your governemnt and the Thai Authority as well.

This a very dangerous situation and Bangkok is so dangerous.

I am married to a Thai lady so I know this country very well.

This are my advice.

Sadly this a fairly common occurrence in Thailand. Youngsters get a bit wrapped up in the frenzy and happy go lucky lifestyle, possibly led into drugs and then forget to phone home.

Anyway, it seems there is somewhat of an update and a good outcome.  :top:
