Pets Microchips in England

We recently moved to England from the US and my two cats have their microchips but the information to reach us in case they get lost is in a database in the US. The vets here do not fix that.  The company I used in the US also told me that they do not change that info.

Does anybody knows how to change the pet owner's information in the microchip?

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I answered your question last night, but it seems lost in the ether.

So, to repeat myself, some information to help you is on the UK Gov website; this link will take you straight to it.  Basically, your chip must be readable otherwise you would not have got your cats through at the airport.  If your vet cannot read your chip, the UK system to regulate animal chips can be found on the PETrac website, this link will take you directly to it; they were able to alter our dog's information when we first got him.

The last alternative is to have them re-chipped here in the UK.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I will look into those websites!
