renting terms and conditions

Hi all,

I have a question on the renting terms: assuming that I submit my candidature for 2 different apartments (via the so-called "inlichtingsfiche kandidaat huurder") and in both cases the owner agrees to give me the apartment, can I withdraw my candidature for one of the 2 apartments without any penalties ?

In other words, at this point of the "renting process" is it my right to decide without incurring in any penalties ?

Thanks in advance for your replies !!

ah no, once you sign, you're engaged (for 9 years most of the time)

Except if you get a informal common agreement together

Basically you might have to pay up to 3 months of rent to cancel your contract, as you're canceling the 1st year

Hi,

thanks for the feedback.

Does this also apply when the owner agrees to give me the house for rent (i.e. based on the "inlichtingsfiche kandidaat huurder") but before signing the contract ?

As long as you've not sign the contract, of course you can withdraw.

But if you've signed, you're engaged (for 9 years, well reality is 3 years if you don't want to pay fees for canceling)
