Hello I’m looking for some urgent,I hope you can help me.

I’m trying to rent an apartment for one month in Milan, and I signed a lease and paid my deposit Incase of any damage on a fully furnished studio for a one month rental.

Only afterwards the the Property owner tells me I need to pay additionally 1100 euros for property insurance.

As far as I know the property owner should be responsible for taking out property insurance and not the person renting it. What are the normal rules in Italy ?

The property owner is not being honest with you.    If you have a contract (and the insurance is not listed in it) you have no obligation to pay.   You can go to the Guardia di Finanza and report him, or tell him you will go to the Guardia or the police  which should be enough to make him stop.   For a one month rental you are anyway looking at airbnb/holiday lettings, as any long term contract must be registered at the tax office.    For a 30 day rental you have a 'affitto breve' contract which is a holiday let and does not include taxes, imposte or anything like that.
