Hello everyone,

I'm French and I'm staying in cluj for 95 days. So I need a registration certificate.

I went to the immigration office multiple times but there are so many people waiting there that I can't get in. (some were waiting since 3am)

According to some, it is not worth it doing it if you don't really need a cnp. (like for administrative reasons)

What are your thoughts about this?

Thank you

I don't know at all unfortunately. If you are in Cluj give me your opinion because I am hesitating between this city and Bucharest.

I will make a reconnaissance trip in April-May 2024.

Good luck!

If you are staying more than 90 days, you must register by law.  It's not a matter of being "worth doing".

Just to add to Romaniac, you will be fined and possibly deported as well.

It's always safer to follow the law, from their site it sounds like you should show up at the Immigration Office Monday to Firday at the 8:15 or so to be safe.

That said I don't really expect anything to happen if you stay 5 extra days without registration as an EU citizen. I don't know if they check registration when you leave the country at the border, that's the only place where you might get fined.
