Looking for Pollyfilla in Bulgaria

Well I looked up on Google how to fill the cracks under the window frames in the house and I know that I can do it myself. But I went on the village bus to Pomorie yesterday and they only had silicon which I didn't want. Today I went to my village DIY store where they sold me what looked like a large sliver foil covered sausage. I pieced it but the stuff that came out was clear, thick and sticky I've tried to use it but it looks as if I've covered the crack with clear sticky tape.  So I'm thinking that on Monday I'll get the other village bus and go to Prakticar near to the Mall and see if they stock Pollyfilla. What do you think?

Kath, I need to do the same job at my place. I think I'll probably use lime mortar as crack filler. Here's a recipe, though this is for builder quantities: https://www.roundtowerlime.com/post/gui … ime-mortar

It's based on hydrated lime - called вар (var) in Bulgarian - mixed with about two and a half times as much sand and then mixed well with water till it's Polyfilla consistency. Var is cheap. Just make sure to wear gloves and eye protection when using it as it's very alkaline.

Or this seems like it may be similar to premixed Polyfilla and says it's suitable for outdoor use: https://praktiker.bg/bg/Tziment-i-preob … R/p/441785

Here's more info on that from the UK site: https://isomat.co.uk/product/fast-cover-2-en/

I'm not sure there's much actual Polyfilla, but I think most stores have some pre-mixed plaster which is pretty much the same thing.

I've bought a lot of construction materials from Praktiker, and it's usually my first choice. But Mr. Bricolage and Praktis are good too. And they all have a good websites with online ordering and delivery to your house. This is what I usually do, rather than traipsing over them and trying to fit stuff in my teeny car. But not an issue for a little bit of filler. :-)
