I have a US driver’s license from a state that qualifies for the French license exchange program.  I submitted my documents online and received a message that processing time is 6 to 8 months. Is this accurate?  Can expect (hope for) a shorter time?

Thank you

Mine took a Year, but you can get a good AAA International Driving License for a year to hold you over. If you do the application carefully, it will help—a translation of your license, both sides by a French State-approved translator. Which you find on the internet, emailed to you by the next day. If your state license has a short life or a recent start date, explain. Add a note about when you got your first driving license.  Your age and the year. And list all the States where you have had a driving license from. They are concerned about the experience. The minimum time is 90 days before they look at it. And each question will cause an email, if you are lucky, or a letter. They also asked me for a driving record from the state. Looking for crashes and violations.
