Bringing a recent electric car from France to Austria

Hello,

I have an issue I didn't find answer yet and maybe I'm worrying for nothing.

I recently bought a Tesla in France less than 6 months ago. I also took the decisions to move to Austria with the company that currently employs me.

I read a lot of information about moving the car to Austria (notably that electrical car doesn't to pay NoVa). But I also read that if I want to bring a new car (less than 6 months like mine), I need to pay the 20% VAT in Austria! I don't understand how it can be possible as I already paid the VAT of 20% in France.

Do you have an idea of the truth behind this?

Everything that I read is defined for a person buying a new car outside Austria while being already registered in Austria and the VAT has to be paid in Austria and not at the dealer's country. But nothing mentions someone who already bought a car and move to Austria within the 6 months with the car. (Especially because there is only 1 month to change the plate).

Thank you all in advance!

Transporting a recent electric car from France to Austria involves a process that considers the unique requirements of an electric vehicle and the logistics of cross-border travel. It includes ensuring suitable charging options, compliance with regional regulations, and potentially planning the route based on charging stations. The journey may necessitate considerations for adapters, access to charging networks, and possible documentation for the vehicle's entry into Austria. Conducting this transportation involves navigating technical aspects specific to electric vehicles, along with administrative procedures, to ensure a smooth and efficient transition across the borders.
