Dear sir/madam,

Hope your doing well, This is Mohammad Nabi from Kabul Afghanistan, I have been living in Iran for 2 years. I have a girlfriend from Brazil we have been together for 7 years I want to travel to Brazil and merry my girlfriend. She wants to send me an invitation letter but she has no idea how to do that. Could you please guide us how to do this?

And kindly explain which kind of visa should I apply for that I could live in Brazil permanently.

Good afternoon, Mohammed Nabi.  Send your girlfriend the link to Post #11 in this thread, which will give her a model letter that she can use, and then you both should follow the instructions in the post:

Marry her in Iran, get the paperwork validated in the Brazilian Consulate in  Teehran. Letters of invitation will lead you nowhere.

09/06/24 @javidkhanahmadzai.  Good morning.  Send this link of a model invitation letter to your girlfriend:

She should fill in the required information, have her signature on the letter authenticated at her local cartório (notary office) and send it to you to present to the Brazilian Embassy in Tehran with the documents supporting your request. You can obtain a list of the required documents from the Embassy.  She should keep several authenticated originals, in case one is lost.

You would apply to the Embassy for a Visitor (Tourist) Visa.  If you and your girlfriend do get married in Brazil, you would apply to the Federal Police in Brazil for residency after the wedding.

In addition to the above, I am not sure whether this will apply to your situation - but I was told to make sure that all documents be apostilled or acceptable to the Brazil authorities.  Since most of my documentation was from outside Brazil, I had to apostille everything - which was something that took me a long time to do.

Good luck.

09/06/24 @Pablo888.  Honestly, the vast, VAST majority of these Internet Brazilian "girlfriends" (and "boyfriends", for that matter) will disappear as soon as they see what's required for the invitation letter, if not before, so the issue of additional documents will never come up.

It's a legitimate question so I always answer it, but the odds of hitting the lottery are better than the odds of this going any farther.
