Hi all, my name is Emmanuel Katto and I am from Africa (Uganda).

I have an important question to ask, please answer me if you have had or seen such a situation.

I have 1 year National VISA (Type-D) Multi-entry of Italy for study, but I have not applied for getting a permission. Can I travel in Scavenge area just using my VISA that available on my passport?  Please notice that I don't have a permission or its receipt.

Thank you for your time,

Emmanuel Katto

Hello,

Usually, a one-year visa is valid for Schengen countries (check your visa). For the first time, it is important that your flight be direct to Italy, and then you can travel with your visa to other Schengen countries. Regarding applying for Permesso di Soggiorno, I think you must apply within the first 15 days of arriving in Italy.
