Poor Planning breeeds Disappointment.....

Post new topic

My Filipina wife would like to spend some time with me here in the US.  She had a family member set up an interview for a Tourist Visa with the US embassy in MNL, then made the trip from Dumaguete (Sadly, she forgot to show the interviewer---who failed to ask for it---the paper the fam member gave her when she appeared for the interview).  The interviewer person asked her a few questions, none of which was "do you have your (blah blah) paper?," asked another question or two, then handed her a standard wordy blue paper that basically says You Failed, Stupid.  Denied.  You are welcome to apply again (and pay the fee again).

What fun!!!  I wanted to check out hiring a service, like RapidVisa or Boundless Immigration, but wifey was determined to do it on her own, and as some of you know, the Cranial Density of the Filipina creature competes nicely with both a rock and a hard place....  We plan to re-apply.....

So, I'm looking for any advice/opinion (s) that may be helpful.  Please be kind...  1f625.svgTHANKS.    Dan

When she filled out her application (online, I hope...) she needs to answer all the questions truthfully and completely. My wife just received her visa and has a friend in the visa dept of a Manila travel agency. She had many "improvements" over out attempt to fill it out.

An issue that was probably an issue for your wife is that you reside in the USA. The interviewer probably got the impression she was moving to live with you and was using the tourist visa to gain admission.

We live together in the Metro Manila area and my address was in the Philippines. Further, we own our home and she has a small restaurant that she owns and runs. We bulked up our checking account before getting our bank to issue a certificate of account.

What I'm saying here is to give the appearance of permanence in the Philippines.

PM me for contact info on the visa person.
