COLOMBIAN SCAM GIRLS: THE BLACKLIST

Yeah, it is complicated for sure. However, finding a good faithful "forever wife" is difficult on a worldwide basis. My history closely parallels Osage's and my suggestions would be similar. Put your pure enjoyment of life first and companionship needs second. I am not saying to abandon them just seek them in areas that you find your self in doing what YOU like to do.
Don't be afraid to put out there what you are looking for, but chances for success are going to be low in a bar. I lucked out and married a great woman. BTW we had our child together when she was forty so don't fail to include the thirty and forty age group.
So, do you eat breakfast at a local panaderia, tell them you are looking for a nice woman. Tell the house keeper at the Hotel you stay at. Etc. I am white; but at the time I was looking over 300 lbs and okay looking; eight or so on a one to ten scale and had more opportunities that I followed. Now an old fart and much thinner by 120 lbs or so I am not looking but still have opportunities.
Of course you could end up like me, an old fart starting retirement with a teenage. BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR... YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT, to quote Ray Wylie Hubbard.
Regards,
lpd
@Lpdiver Hahaha! Nice one! Well, the things I enjoy doing are things that most women do NOT enjoy doing... I'm a big sci-fi nerd, reader, movie watcher, and gym rat. My gym has a few women but they are all old and married (and yes, I do interact casually with them and I have mentioned to them that i am single and looking... so far no "hits" but I am not giving up... after all, I train 4 days a week.. been going for a year so far like clockwork).
But your other suggestion... yes, I have been slacking off on being a "regular" at 1 or 2 local cafes and making more attempts to spend a few pesos and socialize. Thing is, when I am busy w/ tech and career stuff (or just sad/lonely/demoralized) I tend to "hermit up" in my comfortable apartment doing "comfort activities" like watching sci-fi movies, learning Spanish, reading comics, playing a little PS3, cooking/eating delicious meals, prepping for my next gym visit, or just sleeping. I really should "carve out" time to try and a be a "regular" at my local cafe or something.
Anyway... thanks for the realistic-yet-supportive words, man. Aside from the occasional random victim-blaming, I've noticed that this forum is FAR more understanding, helpful, and supportive than, say, most Facebook "Colombia expat" groups!
I think there should be a blacklist of girls on the forum, indicating: their first name, surname (or alias), the city where they are staying, with a short description of the situation and their telephone numbers (which, if Googled, could be checked by possible victims of crime).
In Colombia it is not necessarily necessary to be kidnapped or poisoned with scopolamine: many girls professionally extort money and steal: in the forum, everyone should share a short note. Maybe it will save someone!

@geoffreyrpalmer it depends on the extent if the scam. Either way police wont spend much time trying to get your money back. maybe it depends on how much money.
I'm in the US and I visit Bogota frequently. A friend borrowed several thousand dollars from me. They have not paid me back. Does anyone in Bogota know of a law firm that may help me get my money re payed?
@linwoodmcneill
Sorry buddy, no chance on recovery via a law firm.
For the rest of you, always remember that a personal loan here is viewed and accepted
as a...gift.
No lawyer in Colombia will take a case unless you had a promesory note, in other words a signed document stipulating the amount of money and the terms of the payments, with that you could put lien on some of her assets, without it no one will take your case even the police. Sorry, scam girls in Colombia are big business, for some of you reading this post, be careful falling in love over the internet with whom you believe is a legitimate person, and even if you come an visit that person, don't think you are not been set up for a big money scam.
@JohnyLondon
mr to ive just been scammed by a woman from medellin but since i have had texts from her brother basically apologising for her action and admitted the is a liar they do not know what to do with her she firs this all the time because dhe wants money and a better lifestyle she promises many things all the time crying because she can’t afford to pay bills ect the family are very poor i sent money for her mothers birthday because she wanted a band and i bought her a new dress the family are very nice but poor people but the youngest daughter is a cam girl for Chatterbate works at nova studios in Medellin i was on this site because of an advert on another site and was inquisitive to know what it was all about she ANA was the first woman i met she was really polite sexy and pretty latino i just got hooked i spent 4 days in colombia with her at the family home poor home in the hills it was magical but as soon as she wanted me to go she said i was in danger and took me to the airport after i got home she was different i spoke to a lady friend if mine about her she said shes gaslighting you WHAT what the hell is gaslighting basically i got told to bugger off
There is no " scamming" here
If all this is true, you guys gave these girls ( or a male "friend" ) money of your own free will
So suck it up..part of life
And just remember, a loan in Colombia is a gift
@nico peligro Well, scams aren't always overt or aggressive, sometimes they are subtle, AKA "emotional manipulation". Unless we want to stick to the "strict" definition of scam, which is the former.
However, I promise you, if more victims of long-term emotional manipulation had the courage and shame-free/judgement-free space in which to air their stories, they'll tell you that they felt deceived, AKA "scammed" 🤷♂️
I can't place my finger on it just now, something about "someone" and his money being soon parted...
Maybe Colombia (and everywhere) should pass laws against "someone" being taken advantage of, even when it is willingly? It would put a stop to it, just like laws against rape, robbery and murder have stopped those crimes...oh, wait...
@OsageArcher Hah! When it comes to natural and instinctive desire to meet our Basic Human Needs (air, food, water, clothing, shelter, sex, reproduction, safety, recognition, freedom, etc), no laws made by humans can stop any negative fallout of said pursuits. The "part" of our brain that desires and pursues our BHNs, is still quite primitive and "fundamental" compared to the rest of it.

@ChineduOpara
It doesnt take a genius for a guy who maybe hasnt been laid for years to.figure out that suddenly a beautiful or sexy "cam" girl or girl on tinder is interested in him, it is because he is sexy , and there are no alterior motives
Most guys have at least a bit of common sense and they know what is happening, but chóose to go along with it anyway.
No amount.of sob, poor me ,horror.stories on here will change.this attitude.
Just pay up and shut up or dont pay up and dont say anything either
Been dazed and confused for so long it's not true
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you
Lots of people talk and few of them know
Soul of a woman was created below, yeah
