Hello, I am french also. I go often to Mauritius, but as tourist every year. At immigration arrival airport, we have a stamp for 90 days. If I want to extend the period (over 90 days) I have to go to port louis office before the end of 90 days. I can extend until maximum 6 months (including the first 90 days). For Student statut It could be different, I don't know. regards . B

Yes indeed, for internships it is different, you need to find a company/employer first and it is the employer who will apply for Residence Permit for Internship in Mauritius for the candidate.

Hey Bhavna, thank you for your answer, i'm seeing in the article that I can't receive remuneration during a internship, is there a way to work alongside your internship to earn income or can you come to the island for a period of 4 months for a work contract rather than an internship and receive remuneration?

Thank you

Greg

1) Internship Compensation/stipend: Hello, true you can not receive a formal remuneration (salary) however, the employer might give you a monthly compensation/stipend, you will have to discuss with the employer beforehand.

2) Job : Salary

Another option will be to find a job/employer in Mauritius which could make you eligible for an occupation permit. (You might have an occupation permit - application must be made by the employer) for a period of less than 9 months : https://residency.mu/fr/work/profession … l-company/
