Multiple entry visa

GuestPoster08013

Hi!! I’m Australian and have come to Brazil to spend Christmas with my partners family. As I arrived in Brazil in December I received my 90 day holiday visa stamp in my passport.

However, my partner and I are going to Peru for January and returning to Brazil February 2nd which is after the evisa begins for Australians.

my question is now that I already have my stamp into Brazil for 90 days does this mean I can come and go from Brazil without needing an evisa as well?

I’ve tried to apply for evisa but haven’t heard anything as I think the application is confused as I’m already in Brazil and granted 90 days.

thank you :)

It is all very new, so the system and intricacies have yet to be evaluated, tested and worked out. There is also the potential for yet another delay.

However, in my opinion,  you should assume at this point that you WILL need the evisa when you return from Peru. I think the risk is too high not to have it...

thank you! i understand but i already have 90 days entry granted, so no matter who i contact in regards to my visa appication no one can help me as i applied for it while in brazil already so its confusing

You have up to 90 days granted, not 90 days. Remember a visa is a privilege not a right. The evisa is an electronic application, so that is the way you will receive it back - assuming that you satisfied the requirements and it is granted.

I know several others who are also waiting, sorry but it is not Brazilian to receive anything well ahead of the deadline!

@Tarshacbrown I had two days remaining on my 90 day Visa when I came back from Miami where I had just gotten my FBI Background check and fingerprints. I had ALL my paperwork with me for the Federal Police to get a Permanent Visa. Even then I was stopped at Sao Paulo customs and it took several hours and my Brazilian Wife calling from Ceara and sending copies of family passport`s, document`s and negotiating on my behalf. Finally I received a final ok from an authority in Brasilia on Easter Weekend to let me back into Brazil.

My advice is have a Plan B., if you cannot get back. I always say it is not what you read or some authority tells you, but the understanding of the 6ft. tall 250lb.  Customs Agent that stops you at Customs. They have the final say.
