How easy would it be for me establish credit in Mexico ?

Post new topic

Hi Everyone, I am Manuel, I was actually born in mexico, Nayarit to be precise , my mother migrated us to the US when it was easier and less expensive back in the late 70s early 80s.I have dual citizenship, I am actually considering moving back to Mexico (CDMX) hopefully within the next year to two years, I currently live in Kentucky via California for almost 40 years. I own my own home, have next to nothing in debt, and my fico is in the 830s, i know how credit and credit cards work...how easy would it be for me establish credit, and will my credit history here in the states, benefit me in the long run, should i decide to move there?

The only way your US credit will benefit you in Mexico, is if you have an American Express.

I have only just applied for an Amex here but I've had one in the UK for 9 years or so. On the Amex application in Mexico you can enter your Amex number from another country and they will use that record to grant you credit here in Mexico (wish I'd known that when I first arrived)

Its pretty easy to build credit here though. Ive got myself a good amount of limits within the year I have been here and I plan to keep building my score, as this will be my home for good now I think. Btw I'm CDMX too

Now I've done it and made mistakes and taken ages to find stuff, I know how to do it right the first time. So if you need anything or just need poimting in the right direction just give me a shout
