Hi all,

What do you think about the means of transportation in Alicante ?

Is the network of means of transportation well developed?
What modes of transport are available?

Do you use them?

How much is a fare?

Are they relatively safe?

What is the mean of transportation you use the most in Alicante?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Petrus

Alicante is well served by public transport

By air to most European destinations - transfer in Madrid anywhere in the world.

Train connections to the rest of Spain - Madrid Valencia Barcelona .

A port which serves Algeria

An extensive local bus service and long distance coach service to Madrid and the northern ports.

Reasonable prices.

And don't forget the tram which runs from the city centre North along the coast up as far as Denia.  The new Line 2 is in place and expected to open in January which goes inland to Saint Vincente de Rasbeig.  They are also extending South to join with the city train and bus stations and eventually plan to link to the Airport and Mucia and Elche.

I found it pretty easy to use, most buses were on time and both the train and tram are very good to get about the city center. It's a lot less reliable the more you head into rural areas but this is to be expected.
