Any top tips on where to look for accommodation?

Hello there. Looking for some advice. Moving to Spain imminently, somewhere between Alicante and Torevieja. I'm looking for somewhere quiet and authentic Spanish rather than near the Brit/Irish pubs and bars and also need to be near a language school as I am coming on a student visa initially to study Spanish. I thought if I was in a more Spanish area it would improve my language skills no end. Any top tips on where to look for accommodation gratefully received. Many thanks.

We live around here, and the Costa Blanca is very nice.

But there really isn't much between Alicante and Torrevieja. :-) So I reckon it's Alicante, or Elche, or Torrevieja. Maybe Guardamar or Santa Pola, if smaller is OK.

Accommodation: maybe idealista, booking, airbnb.

DWF002

@gwynj Thank you for that, was thinking Santa Pola or Gran Alacant (most of the property reviews for Elche say loud aircraft noise). Been looking on idealista will try booking and AirBNB

DWF002

@kireyevalyudmila I like the sound of that. Thank you

Elche for aircraft noise? I suppose there might be a route straight over your apartment, but the airport is 20km away! :-) We live in Elche, and we love it here. We never hear any planes, we barely even see them. Santa Pola we like and visit regularly, but both this and Gran Alacant are a bit small for our taste. And it's probably harder to find language schools there.

DWF002

Right okay. That's put Elche back on my list then LOL

Further South is Aguilas, worth a visit, lots of language schools and very Spanish. Great place if you want sea a reasonable sized town. Price for housing is very reasonable.

DWF002

@Jackohartes Thank you for that I will look it up :)

@DWF002what about looking at the northern Costa Blanca quite a few towns slightly inland, there are also language schools advertised in the area.
