@koirj

I was able to view mine. i have to make sure to turn off VPN as well as changing the language to Portuguese.

I also use chrome. I've read somewhere else here that firefox works better.

I did pick my card up too. No email 😅

koirj

Thank you everyone.

I could read in Portuguese.

And my status is "Seu documento foi encaminhado para impressão." now!

When was your interview at the PF?  Mine was in mid-January in RJ and my status is still showing as "O requerimento está sendo processado."

koirj

@sfcastro

In the end of January.

I already have CRNM so it might be faster to proceed though I'm not sure.

kevinmiller1957

Can someone please provide me with link or internet address where you are checking the status of your RNM card?

koirj

@kevinmiller1957

I always check here.

https://servicos.dpf.gov.br/sismigra-in … mento.seam

kevinmiller1957

@koirj thank you!

kevinmiller1957

@koirj yes, that is where I’ve been checking.  Unfortunately I don’t receive any results. Language is in Portuguese, have used Chrome and Firefox.

But thanks for your help!

Cjeezy007

@kevinmiller1957 Make sure your date of birth is inputed using the drop down calendar. if your 1st attempt gives an error response, refresh and try again.

kevinmiller1957

@Cjeezy007

thanks for the advice! i was not using the calendar function to enter my birth date.  unfortunately, that didn’t cure the issue either. I’ve made certain my VPN is disabled, too. i don’t even receive an error message, nothing populates in the fields that are there for status.

Emlyn M

Hello All,

I've been checking this forum for quite some time as people are in the same position as me.

I had my meeting at the PF in São Paulo on 22/1/24 and have been checking the page ever since.

It has said 'the application is being processed' since 25/1/24 apart from a period a couple of weeks ago where it changed to '16/5/24 - the application has been filed (on 9/5/24).

My question is, do you think there is any value in just going to the PF and asking if my card is ready?

I've been there too many times to mention before and I think I won't get in the building without the form saying my card is ready to pick up.

@Emlyn M

I've experienced the same situation but my current status is the below.

Seu documento foi produzido e está em trânsito. Aguarde a informação de recebimento para retirada na unidade de atendimento DELEMIG/DREX/SR/PF/SP.

I think even if you visit PF, they will say that you just need to wait so you will just get frustrated.

To avoid that stress and wasting time, I think it's better to send email instead of directly visiting.

Emlyn M

@koirj

Thank's for the reply.

I should've asked the question weeks ago as yesterday it changed to 'Seu documento foi encaminhado para impressão.'

Maybe someone at the printing office is watching this thread??.....haha

One big problem, and maybe the owner didn't want to rent to a gringo / foreigner (I'm from California), in Sao Paulo anyways, they are crazy about "physical documents," which for sure the protocol is not one.  I remember when I first arrived 3 years ago, someone came to visit me and the hotel I was at. They were having this argument about not having a "physical document"  R.G. but rather a protocol.  Older people need to get with it in the digital age.

I lost this apartment of my dreams, but it was underpriced and 130 sq. meters in the heart of everything. It is a safe location on the top floor for 4,400 reals.  I lost it because the RNM was not the physical document, or like I said, perhaps they simply didn't want to rent to a foreigner. But that was 2 weeks ago, and I've seen nothing even close. for that price.  Anyway, I wonder if I am going to get the same runaround again because my realtor said the protocol was a. problem, but I printed out a few days ago the blue paper RNM and just had it laminated, and his manager took that to be a "physical document," so maybe that will help someone?  I hope so.

I was able to pick up my card yesterday in RJ despite having no appointment as my flight was delayed a day and I missed the initial appoint.  Pretty simple process and glad to be done!

I know you can't download the CRNM app, Carteira Digital do Migrante, without a Brazilian gmail profile, but luckily with Android, I was able to create a new account on my phone (must do this in the country) and it automatically associated that one with Brazil.  From there, I switched the play store to the new account and was to download the app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … .valid.rnm)  My primary profile is setup for everything else (and I switched the play store back to the primary after the download) and the app works.

Now for the problem:  while I have the app running, I can't register my card. I get the error "documento nao encontrado".  Anyone else have this problem?

californiainbrazil

Visited the Polica Federal in RJ today to get a new protocol, which they issued in about five minutes.  I inquired if there was an issue since my status in Sismigra has shown "O requerimento está sendo processado" since mid-January  They told me to just be patient as there is a still a long backlog for CRNM cards to be issued and it is handled only in Brasilia.

LegalWingman

My Protocol expired today and i am out of the country. My CRNM status is still ’processing’ since i applied in SP in January.

Can i get a friend to get another protocol on my behalf with a Power of Attorney?

Would a Power of Attorney also suffice for my Friend to pick my card when its ready?

05/28/24 Can i get a friend to get another protocol on my behalf with a Power of Attorney?  Would a Power of Attorney also suffice for my Friend to pick my card when its ready?        -@LegalWingman

Yes, that should work.  Contact the nearest Brazilian Consulate for information on the type of Power of Attorney that will be treated as valid in Brazil.  Anyone presenting a POA to the Federal Police on your behalf should be a Brazilian citizen or legal resident.

ymartinez

@LegalWingman yes to both.  But you need a procuracao, typically done at a cartorio in Brazil.  But the nearest Brazilian consulate should be able to get that for you.  It might just cost you more.  Your friend will have to go to the PF with the procuracao and id.  I did this with my father as I currently spend more time outside of Brazil than in Brazil.

@abthree this is interesting...I have my passport DN visa expiring 25th of July and CRNM card 17th of August. If I travel away and return, which one they will look? Processo is in trâmite.

    -@Pantai79

My guess would be that the valid CRNM trumps the expired visa and get you in, especially since the new visa is "em trâmite".

jasonlovesdogs

@koirj Did you ever get your card? Mine has had the same message as yours since May 26th. Did you get an email confirmation or did it say on the site it was ready for pickup? Thanks

koirj

@jasonlovesdogs

Not yet. The message appeared from 20th of May so I'm thinking it should be ready to pick up soon.

jasonlovesdogs

@koirj Are we supposed to get an email?

koirj

@jasonlovesdogs

I don't know. Some people seems to not get so it's better for you to check the status every day.

mikehunter

@jasonlovesdogs Yes, you are "supposed" to get an email notification, but as @koirj mentioned, it's not happening for many people.  I know that I didn't get an email notification.

koirj

@mikehunter

Btw, did you already get your CRNM?

I think you said it took around 2 weeks that the CRNM is ready to pick up after it was produced and in transit.

It's been already 3 weeks in my case so I feel it a bit long.

mikehunter

@koirj Yes, my POA picked it up today and is going to DHL it to me next week.  I wouldn't be concerned, it might take a bit longer.  Not sure which PF you are dealing with, but the PF in SP today was packed with people retrieving their cards, so I imagine they are overwhelmed with the backlog.  I had been waiting since the beginning of December, 2023 - so it's been a long haul.

jasonlovesdogs

@mikehunter What did it say on the website when it was ready for pickup?

mikehunter

@jasonlovesdogs It's in post #73 in this thread: https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.p … =2#5913773

rsrenfrew

Sorry i had a rambling post and forgot to push the "next page" button at the bottom.

koirj

I've recieved CRNM today although my status still says "Seu documento foi produzido e está em trânsito...".

It's been already 4 weeks since this meesage appeared so I sent an email to them and they said the card already arrived.

So I visited PF and actually could receive.

The process of CRNM doesn't go well at all...

rsrenfrew

@koirj

YES, FREQUENTLY.

californiainbrazil

@rsrenfrew

My interview was in mid-January and the status still shows as "O requerimento está sendo processado" in Sismigra so it has not even been sent for card printing as of today.

rsrenfrew

@Emlyn M

Hi Evelyn, I think you are correct.  I am hoping to coax my attorney to go with me; he is Brazilian, so I might get in the building.  But I think if you go alone and do not speak fluent Portuguese, forget about it.

rsrenfrew

@californiainbrazil

Hey, I am from CA, too!  That seems so strange to me.  I got this message changed from approval to "Seu documento foi encaminhado para impressão." which just populated since I last checked it.  I wonder if anyone knows how long before it is printed and shipped and then finally ready for pickup, usually from this point?  THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANY INFORMATION!  This has been a nightmare.  By the way, I NEVER carried the physical document with me and had attorneys help me initially and with 2-year renewal.  I have been there 3 times, once for the initial interview on Nov.21, then to pick up late January 22, and then for the application on April 2,2024.  I think having attorneys send emails makes them pay a little attention (I mean, of course, if it's a Brazilian attorney).

The reason I never carried the physical document unless opening a bank account is that I didn't want to lose it and go through all this, not knowing what all this might entail.  This kind of delay could happen again, or curse.  For the physical document, I printed out a CPF from the website, and the back has a QR code.  You can take it to a printer/copier, etc. in frei caneca mall and they are actually tremendous with laminating, looks like the old one they used to issue, I do not think they have actually issued any from the government any CPFs the decade, I got mine originally in 2020 and it was in pdf format.

ymartinez

@koirj remind me when you had your interview again?

ymartinez

@rsrenfrew in 2019, i had mine stolen during a trip abroad (purse was stolen).  the replacement process  (2a via) tends to be much quicker.  I got mine in 10 days.

mikehunter

@ymartinez Thanks, that's good to know.  I'm going to use the e-version and keep mine at home in a safe place.
