Driving in oman with an internatioal license within a family visa

Is it possible for me to drive my fathers car in Oman within a family visa. When I googled I got to know that only people with tourist/visiting visa can drive in Oman with a valid international license.

so is there any possibility that i can drive in Oman for a couple of weeks. As i will be only there for few weeks.

I think the insurance must cover the driver's name, it's easy to add your name to insurance and then you can drive, but it's always better to ask directly from any ROP station.

on international license you can drive rent a car, for father car ask rop

and inform us as well
