Good morning,

I’ve been coming to Belize for several years and I truly enjoy the country and its people. I had big plans but as we know plans change, life changes. My plan was to be there with my family. Now single, I’m concerned about having friends or a social circle. I’m not the most extroverted person but I’m social and curious enough to meet folks.

Does anyone have experience as a single man living and navigating a social life in Cayo, Belize?

I’m asking the men specifically because I assume it’s more difficult for a man to make friends than a woman traveling or living solo as a foreigner. I could be incorrect. Feel free to share your experiences.

I get concerned that not having a car right away or knowing people will be isolating. I have a place in a rural village but it’s only about 10 mins from San Ignacio.

Thank you.
