Thanks for the info. I will definitely checkout Moalboal when I arrive.

No worries, I'm actually in PH right now. I would also suggest Cebu fun Divers. Great location with an Infiniti pool...very chill.

Have you completed many dives with Cebu Fun Dives, if so what are the dive sites like.

Diving out of Dauin, Negros (south of Dumaguete) is excellent, with several resorts that take divers out to Apo Island, a marine reserve.

Copy that and an excellent selection of dive resorts with quality accommodation & cuisine.

Pnwcyclist & Lotus Eater. Thanks for the great info. Can you recommend the dive resorts with the best reputations. It can make all the difference diving with the right dive company.

Atlantis in Dauin. Owned by a Brit. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. Great diving and a collegiate atmosphere with probably the best swimming pool (in design) I have ever encountered.

Beautifully manicured gardens with rare specimen trees and plants. The pool is secluded so at midnight you can go ’skinny dipping’ as our American friends say ;) with your GF and look up at the stars.  Doesn’t get any better

Also Thalatta Dive Resort and Mike's Dauin Beach Resort are both excellent, highly regarded and a long time in the business. We've stayed at both of them over the years, though not availed ourselves of the diving. But we see the boat going out in the morning :)

Thanks for the great replies. I will definitely checkout the resorts you mentioned and report back.

Many good recomendations here.... now my 2 cents.  I have only dived in the Visyas but have multiple trips to Bohol (Panglao, Alona beach), Moalboal, and Dauin.  Dauin is by far my favorite with top recomendation to the day trips to Apo Island.  Dauin is world famous for muck diving if you like micro photography and seeing the little critters.  At the sanctuary dive site right in Dauin you can see much diversity including rare gems like hairy frog fish.  Some good recomendations above but I would add Aivy Maes is great for diving but very rustic  accomodations.  Romel the chief dive master is fantastic.  Tell him Donald says hi.

Moalboal is nice for a few days, highlights here are the sardine bait ball and some nice wall dives.  Bohol is good as well but does not measure up to Apo Island by Dauin.

Happy diving.
