Hi All,

We are a family of four and were planning to move in August. I’m expecting to receive and offer shortly. i have few questions:

  1. Is it common for employers to cover the relocation fees? Ive done a bit of calculation and looks like it’s going to cost us about 25-30k AUD.
  2. We have two sons 7 and 10 (grade 2 and 4). In Australia the school starts in Feb and ends in December. are they going to enrol them in their age grade?
  3. paperwork required to enrol the kids?
  4. Ive heart we need to pay 6-12 months rent upfront to secure an apartment. is that the case for furnished apartments?
  5. do you recommend good suburbs in the Western side of Riyadh? good international schools?

thanks in advance.

Im the same position, family of four (boys 11 & 6) from the UK. I’ve been looking at accommodation. Was hoping to find a compound.

1) Generally yes.  But varies by company.  Some cover actual cost and some only up to a limit e.g. one salary

2) For that, you need to speak to the schools

3) For compounds, generally, yes.  Outside compounds, it varies

4) Figure out your budget first and then ask for recommendations
