Bad Boys: Ride or Die
After their late former Captain is framed, Lowrey and Burnett try to clear his name, only to end up on the run themselves.
-@SimCityAT
Bad Boys Bad Boys.....What ya gonna do when they come for you?
I didn't really appreciate the first few either!
Before Dawn
Inspired by the real-life diary entries of local ANZACs, the feature film details the untold story of some of Australia’s greatest military victories.
-@SimCityAT
I have not seen many newer films for awhile but I would watch this one .Looks like an anti war film.

My great uncle was killed in WW1. For some reason he was in the Australian Infantry making him an ANZAC too. It's not too clear why he was in the Australian Infantry as he came from near Leeds, UK and as far as I know, he was never in Australia.
I discovered this history while researching the family tree.
I've found out where he's buried and we're going to look at his grave at a war cemetery in France in mid-August.
What's really sad is knowing that cemeteries just like that one are still being filled today, even as we chat here.

You're not wrong. It's horrible everywhere.
Just within say, 10km of my house are two war cemeteries. One German (Budaors) and one Commonwealth (Solymar).
I've never been in the German one but I see people visiting it sometimes. It's quite substantial in size.
I've been in the Commonwealth one many times. It's smaller and mainly contains the graves of Allied air crew.
Both are immaculately maintained.
I have never known anyone killed in war. I know many who have been in wars.
My stepfather joined the US Navy at age 17 after his first cousin went down in Pearl Harbor.
That is the closest I am to knowing anyone who was killed in war.
Very sad to know so many died so young.

I wasn't aware either. We were just chasing him down through online records and hit that dead end of a cemetery (so to speak). He was really young when they got him - maybe 26 years old and a Sargent in the Australian Infantry. He was injured, evacuated, then died of his wounds a few days later. This was in Northern France. He was buried in a cemetery alongside many NZ soldiers. There's a special memorial to the lost who lie without a grave.
My paternal grandfather was very badly injured in WW1. Lost the use of one of his arms after being shot by the Hun. He crawled for hours until he was rescued by a passing Frenchman and his donkey cart. My paternal grandfather was a baker and a one armed baker isn't really going to cut it. Never heard of a one armed baker making any dough.
Yes, cheap joke and too easy. But my grandad was really impacted to it and true to form he was stabbed in the back for his pension and war benefits by the likes of the Tories. Turned my Dad into a socialist forever.
I'm mid season on Those About to Die and it's not a bad show at all.
There's a lot of obvious back projection and green screen stuff but the story is entertaining so far.
Bit of a cheapish Game of Thrones and several alumni from that and other similar shows.
I am sure there will be a season 2.
After a long hiatus, I've just started Gomorra (Italian mafia show) Season 5.
Huge hit series - 5 seasons total.
it's in Italian but can be watched with English subtitles.
-@fluffy2560
There is also the Suburra - similar but in Rome.
First they made the film, then several season of prequel TV series.
Actually the film is better than the series.

Cool.
Apparently it's on Netflix too.
The new Deadpool.
Logan was dead for the first fight scene but he still killed about 20 bad guys.
Wait until ALL the credits have run before you leave
I've just started The Oath. It's a US cop drama and ran for 2 seasons. Quite old now, 2019.
I dunno what to say about it other than Sean Bean is in it.
Filmed in Puerto Rico which is somewhat quirky and unusual.
Widow Clicquot
After her husband's death, Madame Clicquot flouts convention by assuming the reins of their wine business, defying her critics and ultimately revolutionizing the champagne industry, establishing her as one of the world's first great businesswomen.
The Instigators
Rory and Cobby are unlikely partners thrown together for a heist. But when it goes awry, they team up to outrun police, backward bureaucrats, and a vengeful crime boss.
After losing everything, he started a new life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zwt3xeRg2sA
Just that picture puts me right off. No aliens, spaceships, cowboys or grittiness. Mmmmmm...
Twisters
As storm season intensifies, the paths of former storm chaser Kate Carter and reckless social-media superstar Tyler Owens collide when terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed. The pair and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
Fly Me to the Moon
Sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones, brought in to fix NASA's public image, wreaks havoc on Apollo 11 launch director Cole Davis' already difficult task of putting a man on the moon. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup, and the countdown truly begins.

I've heard negative reports about this movie.
Miral 2010
Miral is a 2010 biographical political film directed by Julian Schnabel about the coming of age of a Palestinian girl named Miral who grows up in the wake of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War and finds herself drawn into the conflict.
The film begins with a chronicle of Hind Husseini's effort to establish an orphanage in Jerusalem after the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, the Deir Yassin Massacre,[2][3] and the establishment of the state of Israel. In Jerusalem in 1948, on her way to work, Hind Husseini (Hiam Abbass) comes across 55 orphaned children in the street. She takes them home to give them food and shelter. Within six months, the number of children grows to almost 2,000, and the Dar Al-Tifel Institute is born.
Miral (Freida Pinto) is sent to the Institute by her father in 1978, at the age of 5 following her mother's death. Brought up safely inside the Institute's walls, she is naïve to the troubles surrounding her. Then, at the age of 15, she is assigned to teach at a refugee camp where she is awakened to the reality of the Palestinian refugees

Watched an oldie but goodie last night.
Stared Martin Sheen from 1974.
The Execution of Private Slovik.
First US execution since the Civil War. He was shot in 1945.
Simple soul who had no business being in the US Army.

I remember that movie and I think it was a true story.
It was a travesty of justice.
Martin Sheen of course is Mexican - father of Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez.
I watched The Union on Netflix this morning, was quite enjoyable.
I'm going to give Red Eye a go now, a 6 part drama. I quite like British political thrillers. It's also in 4k.
I'm finishing up Season 3 of The Bear. Just seen episode 8. Seasons 1 and 2 were OK but Season 3 has made it go off the boil. It's like some kind of Improv performance now. OK for the actors using their craft but for the audience, nah, no way, it's such a snoozathon.
It's a sunk cost fallacy. I've invested so much time in it, it seems hard to stop. I doubt I can get through Season 4.
Started Season 7 of Ray Donovan and already it's a corker.
Excellent writing and quite funny here and there.
I never thought of Jon Voight as being any good but he's truly an excellent actor.
I watched an interesting documentary last night.
It was called: Catching Fire.
The story of the Rolling Stones muse,Anita Pallenberg.
Her son produced it and it was based on notes he found after his mom died.
It is offered in 3 parts a bit over 90 mins. long.
She was the ,IT girl back in the day.
My &( year old sister met her around 1965,66 at the RCA recording studios in S. Ca.
I shared that tale before, how my sister and her friend ditched school and hitched over to the recording studio in hopes of meeting the Stones.
They did; sister even go a big smacker on the lips from Mick.
She and her friend went into the ladies room inside the studio and Anita came in a chatted with the girls for a bit. Even borrowed my sisters hairbrush.
My sis said she was so glam and nice to them.
IDK? now with time and experience in life, basically just a rich druggie. Without access to money she and Keith would probably be homeless on the sts. shooting up.
Still was inteeresting to see.
Sorry, this French keyboard, my sister was 15 at the time.
Yes, Mick kissed my sister on the lips outside the studio then hid the 2 girls in a broom closet. Later a janitor found them and threw them out.
BTW, Micks kiss was sloppy wet with a alcohol taste.

Mick's 81 now. Hard to imagine Mick's sloppy kiss even back then but a bad dream if recent. One thing I didn't know is that Mick's mother was born in Sydney so really he should be a dual national of Australia and the UK. Bit odd he hasn't claimed that.
Meanwhile, I've started Only Murders in the Building. I'm on Episode 3 next but I'm wondering if it's worth my time.
It's a bit too routine for me. There have been some amusing bits.

I suppose that show is on Netflix?
U tube is fine but is not very current with newer shows.
I have fallen into the habit of late of watching the show, 48 Hours. All about murders.
Not exactly the best show to see before going to bed.
Mick at 81, they really should give it up already!
I no longer consider them the Stones, not since Bill left and Charlie checked out.
First time I saw them live , Mick Taylor was with them.
I was 16 and went with my BFF Lisa and her brother, a couple of his friends and Lisa,s BF.
Everyone wanted her extra ticket to the concert but as she was my BFF she picked it up for me and sold it for what she paid for it. A Whopping $7.50. Had a time getting my mother to buy it for me, think I sold my soul for 6 months of washing dishes and babysitting for her.
When my eldest sister saw the Stones in 1965 or there abouts, their first trip to the states, one paid $2.50 for a ticket and the eldest just went along without a ticket. She knew she could find one for sale with a ticket scalper. Not a very popular concert so she bought one for half price, $1.25!!!!
Hard to believe since now you would be hard pressed to find anything for under IDK, say $100. in the nose bleed section!
When they played here in Budapest we paid $50. each
Poor Lisa, was not easy to buy those tickets, must of been 1971?
Ticket Master in the US was selling them; She and the boys stood in line all night long till they opened up.
They opened and everyone rushed forward, pushing ,shoving etc. Lisa was kncoked some ways from her BF and brother in the crowd of people.
She was crying really hard and the ticket agent, a women called her forward to buy her 2 tickets. They only allowed 2 tickets per person.
The reason Lisa was crying so hard was not seen by anyone but she felt it!
Some disgusting guy was rubbing himself against her leg and she could not move to get away!
All she could do was cry out of rage.

No, the Only Murders in the Building is on Hulu but if one knows about these things, it's downloadable. Wikipedia says it's on Disney+ here. Don't know if that would be in English. It's got a raft of guests including in Season 1, the guy from The Police, Sting.
I don't watch HU TV so I don't know if it's on any of those channels or if it would be possible to watch in English. HU TV channel selection is atrocious. I know it's a foreign country, not speaking English, but really, it's pretty dire - it's not like they cannot provide multi-language sound like Netflix. Mrs F watches it as does one of the kids.
BTW, we're on the PR Telekom cable network here but it's totally inadequate and unreliable for Internet/TV so we're going to dump it for Telekom TV so I guess we'll get all new channels. We've moved all our mobiles to Telekom so we'll get the "triple play" - TV/Internet/Phones on that as it's cheaper. Maybe we'll get some decent shows.
Ticketmaster seems to have been embroiled in all sorts of nonsense. We've used them in the past but every time I've looked at their offers, the alarm bells ring regardless of the reality. I don't know if one has to pay extra to be touched up by some sleazebag.
Interesting thing about Mick Jagger is he's the one who controls The Stones' finances. He was training to be an accountant! Looks like he didn't forget his early work!
Yes, poor Lisa, she was a feisty person but she was smashed into people and could not move.
The guy kept saying to her when she was screaming at him was: Survival of the Fittest!!!
What a piece of work!!
She said the women ticket agent thought she must of been such a huge Stones fan that she was overly emotional about getting tickets. Who knows, maybe if not for that pervo Lisa might of been passed over for tickets!
We had such a good time; at least I think we did, laughed so hard at Mick that we hardly listened to the music!
Years ago I read Mick was worth 500 million bucks, I am sure he has doubled that by now.
Of course with all those children and exs he has, he is supporting many people.

Yes, Mick does know how to put it about a bit. He's certainly increased his gene pool.
I'm on Lord of the Rings - Rings of Power - Season 2 now. It's a truly sumptuous show. They must have spent millions on just the special effects.
What I do find interesting is they haven't used really famous people in it. They've used very competent people with a track record but no big names - nearly everyone in it is British. I find that quite enlightening, even surprising.
Only Murders in the Building is on Disney+ and its in English.
-@SimCityAT
I've been thinking we should dump Netflix for Disney+.
Just to have something different.
1939, Hitler's army was closing borders, and 85 American missionaries were in Germany serving their church. The escape of these missionaries from Nazi Germany is one of the most dramatic events to occur in modern LDS history.
An emotionally distant writer returns to his hometown of Cleveland for his beloved mother’s funeral, after having spent years successfully avoiding interactions with his high-strung sister, bumbling but well-meaning father, and untrustworthy step-father. While in town, he forges a new relationship with a charming, energetic stranger who pushes him to realize that he can’t avoid conflict forever — with his family or within himself.

LDS? Mormons? I wonder if this is some kind of advertising for their church.

That sounds like depressing social drama.
I was discussing "kitchen sink drama" in cinema the other day.
I was surprised no-one had heard of the genre. But then again, they were all about 30 years old.

I had to look up what, kitchen sink drama was.
Angry young men in the 50s and 60s.
They should update that to the present day!
I am not so sure I miss Netflix or HBO or any pay tv.
Here and there it sounds like they show some interesting things but overall, na.
I have been watching way too much 48 hours murders mystery.
Last night I saw 2 different episodes of adult children offing their super wealthy parents for money.
No worried for us... Still disturbing to think you spent all your time, energy and love on someone only to have them kill you off for what was going to be their anyways. They just could not wait their turn.
Saw a meme the other day. It deplicted a women not being able to sleep after watching a show where a dog dies. She could however fall asleep fast after watching a show where a serial killer did in 27 people!
Hate to admit it but I probably fit in that meme!
