job opportunities

I'd suggest mainstream job boards (Monster, Linkedin Jobs, etc.), at least to start.

housing

Maybe Booking/Airbnb for short-term, perhaps Idealista for long-term.

establishing credit

This is not a big drama like it is in the USA. I suggest you don't worry about this.

health insurance

I like the comparison engines (Acierto, Rasreator) which will list all the companies and their policy cost. You can also go direct to the websites of big players like Sanitas, Asisa, DKV, Mapfre, etc.

Residence Permit

You didn't mention this, but it's probably the major issue for relocation to Spain. You can only visit (up to) 90 days in 180 days with your US passport (visa free). There is an NLV (No Lucrativa Visa) which is popular, and relatively easy to get, but does not allow working. It can be a good way to become a resident, and then you do job hunting in Spain, and then change visa status when you get a job offer. Otherwise, there are options for employee, self-employed, student, and digital nomad that might be suitable.

  1. Police  station for NIE (ID CARD)
  2. Open bank account  (im at BBVA,  for example.)
  3. Are you going to rent an apartment or buy? both  are relatively easy…
  4. health insuramce:  DKV is good I’ve heard, but there are many you can google…
