Hi All,

i am running into an issue with my family reunion visa.

Me and my partner met in the UK in Dec 2022 and i moved here on a DN Visa in September, we now have a union Estavel so that i can apply for residency, however, we are now being told that we can only apply for the visa once we have had the union esteval for 1 year, has anyone else had this issue?

Welcome.  This is certainly true if the união estável is informal.  If it's been registered at a cartório the Polícia Federa will frequently waive the one year requirement, although that is at their discretion.  If you have not registered at a cartório, you could try that; if you have and were still rejected, try going to the PF office at a different time:  you might find a more flexible officer.

Otherwise, you'll probably have to either renew your DN visa and wait out the balance of your year, or marry your partner.
