Advice wanted on moving the the Phil's

gylenthal

I am a Belgian citizen, retired and currently living in Thailand.

After living 23 years in Thailand, I look forward to move elsewhere in South-East Asia,

I was in 2006 in the Phil's and liked that country very much.

I would like to have a little bit more information about relocating to the Phil's.

  1. What kind of Visa does the Phil's offer for a retired expat?
  2. What are the requirements to move to the Phil's (money in bank or investment; Health insurance; etc.)?
  3. What cities are the best to retire in?

I don't look for nightlife or busy cities (Manilla, Angeles, Cebu, etc.)

TIA

Hello and welcome !

While waiting for members to respond, feel free to read the Living in the Philippines guide for expats. It contains all the primary informations.

Bhavna's suggestion is a good one, there is also a search window on the upper right of the main page and if you type "visa" you will get a plethora of information.

Many of us just stay on the tourist visa, renewing every 30-60-90 days and you can do that for up to 3 years before you have to exit. Or longer term visas are available, like the SRRV.

There are no restrictive requirements if you stay on a tourist visa, SRRV does have minimal ones - a $10K deposit plus some regular pension income. But overall it is one of the easiest countries to retire in within SE Asia.
