Bit complicated but here goes, MARRIAGE TP FILIPINA IN THAILAND

Newbie to this forum, so go gentle diba?

Sooo 27 years ago, I came to Phils, made a BIG mistake (like some expats do) got married, went straight back to UK, where after 4 months she left me....no-one seen her since and all contact is lost

Got a CENOMAR today which shows Im married

Now forward to today,

been with my filipina fiancée for 12 years, would like to get married, seen an Att here in phils, she says go to thailand to get married, NO cenomar required, just register our marriage in British & Philippine Embassy.

My question to you folks is this

When we register our marriage in the Philippine embassy in THAILAND, do they do an in depth investigation into our backgrounds to see if either one of us is/has been married before????

has anyone been in this situation?

(yes I am aware of the rules & regs about marriage here in Phils

You can get a divorce in your home country, you are than legal to remarry, your X would have to have the divorce registered to be able to remarry
