Mobile phone plans in Bahrain

Post new topic

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

Staying connected while living in Bahrain remains a priority for expats, especially when choosing a mobile operator or to understand the local specificities of mobile plans.

Here some elements to consider:

How to choose your mobile operator in Bahrain?

What documents are required to subscribe to a mobile plan in Bahrain?

What criteria should you consider when choosing a plan matching your needs?

Are e-sim cards a suitable option for expats? What are the conditions?

What are your local tips for saving money on your mobile plan, especially for international calls (apps, operators, etc.) or mobile data?

Feel free to share your experiences and advice to choose your mobile plan as an expat in Bahrain.

Thank you for your contribution.

Hello

While in Bahrain, you have 3 major operators vis STC,  BATELCO, Zain.

I use STC as I have been using it for many years now they offered me 7.7 BHD monthly postpaid plan package. It gives me

local 160 call minutes,

unlimited local stc to stc calls and sms

14 GB data and 35 GB social media data

100s of international minutes depending on the country you want to call. For example, for UK/ US you have 236 minutes and for major Asian countries loke china, Ind, Pak, Bangladesh, Thailand etc you get even more upto 600 mins. African and ME countries including Saudi you get somewhere between 50 and 90 international mins.

Depending on your duration of stay in Bahrain and requirements you can get pre-paid or postpaid connection with your passport or CPR.

Multiple sims, I believe, upto 3 are possible on one CPR. You can get it by visiting a local store or downloading their app for a doorstep delivery.

It’s always better to buy a package else calling and data usage on your recharge balance is high on $$$.

Hope this gives an idea about the pricing and benefits offered by telecoms in Bahrain.
