Visa incomplete middle name in ICAO line

VictorCas

Hi,

I am about to apply for a Vietnam tourist visa. I'm departing in two weeks and I would rather avoid mistakes.

I am looking for some help as to how to enter my name. My name is

Surname: Castaneda Gutierrez Otero

Names: Victor Eduardo

The ICAO line in my passport is as follows:

P<MEXCASTANEDA<GUTIERREZ<OTERO<<VICTOR<EDUAR

Should enter this as:

Surname: Castaneda Gutierrez Otero

Name: Victor Eduar

OR AS

Name: Victor Eduardo

Thank you very much

Hello VictorCas. Welcome to the expat.com Vietnam forum.

The "correct"  way to enter your name on the eVisa application would be as it shows on the ICAO line...

Surname* = Castaneda Gutierrez Otero

Name* = Victor Eduar

Please give that a try. As you've still 2 weeks before your departure, you'll have time to amend your application if necessary. Feel free to reach out to us again should the need arise.

Now, that said, there have been reports from members of their having to enter their name as (in your case)...

Surname* = Castaneda

Name* = Gutierrez Otero Victor Eduar

Once again, welcome aboard. Hope to hear back from you soon with the good news of your eVisa having been granted.

(note the contraction of your name Eduardo to Eduar due to the character limit on the ICAO line. Do not deviate from the ICAO spelling)

David Martins

Hello,

I recently had my visa approved but have some doubts on whether I might still have problems.

My ICAO line shows as

PRTD<CARVA<ESTROCIO<MARTINS<<DAVID<ROBERTO

I put:

GIVEN NAME: DAVID ROBERTO

SURNAME: CARVA ESTROCIO MARTINS

I then thought I might have put it wrong and don't want flight or entry denial because of the missing "D" or because one of my names is incomplete.

For context my name is: David Roberto de Carvalho Estrocio Martins

Would appreciate some info on whether I should apply again despite the original acceptance.
